Sundays are lovely sometimes

Be still, my soul: The Lord is on thy side;
With patience bear thy cross of grief or pain.
Leave to thy God to order and provide;
In ev'ry change he faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul: Thy best, thy heav'nly Friend
Thru thorny ways leads to a joyful end.

Be still, my soul: Thy God doth undertake
To guide the future as he has the past.
Thy hope, thy confidence let nothing shake;
All now mysterious shall be bright at last.
Be still, my soul: The waves and winds still know
His voice who ruled them while he dwelt below.

Be still, my soul: The hour is hast'ning on
When we shall be forever with the Lord,
When disappointment, grief, and fear are gone,
Sorrow forgot, love's purest joys restored.
Be still, my soul: When change and tears are past,
All safe and blessed we shall meet at last.

Some Days....

Do you ever feel like your life has somehow turned in to a terrible episode of the Twilight Zone? Or some awful 3rd graders Game of Opposite Day?

Argh! that is to you (and you know who you are!)

Happiness is...

...climbing under a pile of towels fresh from the dryer. I could not help myself today... they were just calling to me, all warm, toasty, and fluffy. A pure moment of childlike joy!

In other news; I went running for the first time in weeks. It felt like there were sandbags tied to the tops of my shoes. I am pretty sure the same snail passed me twice! I did take a moment to rest in the grass by the banks of the Hudson and enjoy the view.

And so it begins

it is the season of humidity and hoping my hair will fight back.... it begins with one ringlet... then pretty soon it is frizz fest on my head!

(so forced perspective is not my friend here... My ear looks massive)

Sometimes I go to Boston

And while I was there I...

walked a lot

stopped to smell the flowers

associated with smart people

feed the birds

feed myself... (yes I will have another lobster role, thank you)

wandered in the mist and the fog

spent time with the best mates Australia has to offer

did my best to be cute ;)

My Future Wedding

This picture has been on my fridge for the last two years. It is starting to get a little wear and tear and I thought today that it should be documented :)

My niece Abbie drew this for me on christmas. So sweet.... right? Let me give you a summary of her explanation of the drawing.

Gaby: Oh Abbie, this is so pretty, thank you.

Abbie: It's your wedding Aunt Gaby.

G: oh really?

A: Yes, there is the temple and angel moroni, and a butterfly, and you have a princess dress.

G: Nice. And when is this Abbie? When do I get married?"

A: You get married when you are 52, and your husband is King Herod.

So that is something to look forward to....
